The Thrill is Gone

Oh, he won't admit it's the whole reason, but it may well be. When he starts feeling like he's seen your whole bag of sexual tricks, or you're not that mysterious, glamorous creature you were when you started dating, he starts getting the itch to get out. Some men get far too caught up in the fantasy thing. Once that mystery and enchantment is gone - oh, say, about the time you ask him to pick up some tampons for you at the store - he will be, too.

You've Changed

Shallow? Uh-huh, but it's true: if you've stopped taking care of your appearance once you've got him hooked, he'll use that as a reason to bail. (Incidentally, he's more likely to stick it out if he's let himself go, too).

You Tried to Change Him

It's practically a cliché by now, how women fall for the "bad boy" with the mistaken assumption that they can remake him into the man of their dreams. It's dangerous enough even to try. But if you actually succeed, you can start counting the minutes until he cuts the cord. In an effort to get back to being that free spirit he once was, he'll change his surroundings - starting with you.

He Can't Breathe

Sure, he loves attention, but if your adoration starts feeling suffocating, he'll bolt. Ditto if your union is marked with too many quarrels, too much jealousy, or your unabating need for his reassurance of how special you are, how solid your relationship is, and how much you can trust him.

You're Not His Ideal

He went into your relationship with an unrealistic idea of who you were and what kind of couple the two of you would be. Now that he's realized you're not perfect (!), he's going to look for someone who is. Wish him luck.
They sure have enough excuses - "I need more space," "I think we'd be better off as friends," - but what are the real reasons men leave their ladies? We get behind the old saw, "It's not you, it's me," to find out.

I think men dump women for the same reason women dump men. Boredom. Same ole same ole.. You don't covet what you have. People need to learn that Love is about sacrifice.. Especially when it comes to marriage. It's about accepting and loving your husband/wife for his/her highs and lows. In other words, If you have to go looking for someone else to fullfill your sexual fantasies because "he's not rough enough in the bedroom" or "she doesn't give me blowjobs", you should have never gotten married in the first place.

how about "a man is only as faithful as his options"? that may sound one sided and sexist but 9 out of 10 times its the truth... Danny Davito has a better chance of staying faithful than George Clooney.

Yeah........but I think that there are other factors too.
In some cultures, not only is it more accepted, but encouraged. Then there is the upbringing. I think if it is something that happened during childhood and was for the most part accepted, that is what the children will learn.

Personally, I think insecurity and self esteem play a big part too. A man who deems himself not good enough may take advantage of every chance he gets to cheat. Maybe it makes him feel more desirable, more wanted. Many times when someone does or says something hurtful, it is usually because they are not happy with themselves.

Then there are the revenge cases where it was done to them, so they feel it necessary to take revenge.

Then there's some men that just don't know what they want, and those that know too much and want perfection while no one is perfect. I mean some men want their women beautiful all the time, pay their half of everything if not support the man too, raise perfect children, have the hot meal on prepared when they get home, house clean, etc...and they still complain.

That sounds reasonable.. I'm proud to say that I've had many, many great opportunities to cheat and I've never taken up a single one of them. Now I'm sure every other guy here will reply with, "me too!". Right. Post a picture and let's see why.

The whole "cheating" thing is a touchy subject with me. I've never been cheated on but statistics tell me that I will be one day. F'in weak little humans.

People cheat because they get bored with each other...period.

Heck for all your girls..Danny DeVito would be a good choice...he can stand up straight and eat your taco. That is impressive, also rumer has it that he packs a big italian sausage in that little height of his. Why do you think his wife always looks like her hair was just shocked with electricity...:)

I think sometimes women tend to look the other way, but there is always a sign. If you keep your ears and eyes open, you'll notice it. lol ;)

Not to bust your bubble, but believe me, I have seen some shit you will not believe. Now I don't do this type of stuff personally, but i've seen guys lie through their teeth to their loved ones and get away with it.

For the most part, i'd say both Women and Men can be sneaky.

True love is about always having that passion and chemistry there. No matter what. That's love. You will find that there is no room for lies and bullshit. Because you care for the other person. That's love. And if you find someone who shares that same view as you, about you, then SHIT, you found a true soul mate.
