Just wanted to say a quick note about KTUS 10th aniversary of signing on the air on Febuary 10, 1996. Having been a listener since that exact moment it signed on the air I have experienced its ups and downs. Even thought its not a pure dance station which was a pure disappointment for me and the majority of dance fans in the New York Metropolitan area hoping it would take the reigns of legendary HOt 103/97. Instead of dwelling on the negatives I would say that it has lasted 10 years when many of its competers folded before them. Almost 8 years ago they debuted the Freestyle Free For All on Sunday Nights which has become the highest rated Freestyle show since the legendary Hot 97 Saturday Night Original Dance Party. While Mix 102.7 does play frequent freestyle songs in rotation KTU on Sunday Nights does go deeper and has just started to play 1-3 new school freestyle songs which is a plus for Freestyle. However, they dont allow the new school to cross over into the regular rotation with the last song being Cynthia and Safires Duet "Can You Stand The Rain." Another positive for KTU is their annual summer concert called Beatstock which has many different current and classic dance performers live in concert. Well just wanted to wish KTU Happy Birthday.
